Canyon Clay Studio

Our story

A studio built around attention, texture, and generous teaching.

From a shared table

Canyon Clay Studio began in 2018 when Mira Vale invited a small circle of neighbors to explore hand-building around one long worktable. The group returned for the calm of the process and the honest warmth of clay. Today, our classes retain that intimate spirit while welcoming makers from across the city.

Our mission

We make clay education clear, inclusive, and grounded in real practice. Students leave with stronger material knowledge, useful techniques, and permission to develop a point of view rather than imitate a single style.

What guides us

Process over performance

We value observation, revision, and the small decisions that make an object personal.

Practical kindness

Instructions are specific, questions are welcome, and every experience level is respected.

Responsible making

We teach mindful material use, careful studio habits, and realistic expectations for handmade work.
